Sgt. Marco Garced

Sgt. Marco Garced began his law enforcement career in 1987, serving in the US Army Military Police Corp. He joined the White Plains Police Department in 1993 after being honorably discharged.

He served in Patrol and Community Policing, where he was assigned a walking post in the Winbrook housing complex. He also remained a member of the US Army reserves and completed a tour in Iraq in 2010, where he served as a member of a Combat Dog Tracker Team.

He was promoted to Sergeant in 2006, and worked as a patrol supervisor until being reassigned in November 2011 to the Department's Traffic Division.

Some of his duties include scheduling officers for overtime traffic assignments, liaison with the school crossing guards, serves on the Traffic Commission Staff, meets with construction companies and city officials when a construction project will impact traffic in the city, and under the supervision of Capt. Nicholas Kralik, plans and supervises Public Safety’s role in major events in the city such as parades and holiday celebrations.
