Captain David R. Burpee
Captain David Burpee began his emergency service career in 1973 working in White Plains on the local ambulance. Captain Burpee became a paramedic supervisor and an EMS educator before joining the Police Bureau.
Captain Burpee has risen through the ranks serving as a Patrol Officer, Patrol Sergeant, and Tour Commander. He has been a Commander in both the Administration and Patrol Divisions, the Commander of the Training Division, and the Department’s grant writer.
Captain Burpee holds several instructor certifications and is a New York State Master Instructor. He is a graduate of the Police Executive Research Foundation’s Senior Management Institute for Police.
